Our Collective Potential

A Grandfather’s Legacy
Eduardo Taracaya Chavez was a civil servant with a modest income, but his heart was immense. Every year, he saved throughout the seasons to bring gifts to children in Quisinsaya—his way of nurturing joy and dignity in a place he never forgot. His acts of kindness weren’t grand gestures; they were consistent, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in love. Nicole grew up watching this quiet generosity, and it became a blueprint for her own purpose.
The Heart of Quisinsaya
Nestled in the highlands near Cusco, Quisinsaya is a small Andean village where tradition, resilience, and community define daily life. Like many rural communities in the Sacred Valley, it carries the legacy of the Inca through its agricultural rhythms, ancestral weaving techniques, and deep reverence for Pachamama (Mother Earth). Life here is shaped by the mountains—quiet, enduring, and full of stories passed down through generations.

Simple Efforts
There is little we cannot do together, and only small amounts go a long way! In many areas of the world giving the smallest amount matters.
If you're reading this you're likely more financially wealthy than 50% of the world!
Our goal is to setup a way to make support simple, and most importantly, ensure the community is empowered by it's own potential.

We will contribute long term by supporting education and opportunity within communities.
Short term we will be gifting children with toys and clothing for Christmas holidy.
Meet Nicole

Nicole Solorzano Reynolds is a Peruvian-American community builder and founder of Karu Ayllu, a nonprofit rooted in the spirit of intergenerational care and Andean tradition. Born in Cusco, Peru, Nicole spent much of her childhood with her grandparents, whose values of generosity and cultural pride deeply shaped her worldview. Inspired by her grandfather Eduardo Taracaya Chavez—who brought gifts to children in his home village of Quisinsaya every Christmas—Nicole launched Karu Ayllu to continue his legacy of joy and service. Her work bridges heritage and hope, beginning with toy donations and expanding toward long-term educational empowerment for rural Andean communities.
Nicole Solorzano founded Karu Ayllu in honor of her grandfather Eduardo Taracaya Chavez, whose lifelong generosity continues to inspire her. This season, we’re collecting donations to bring toys to children in small villages—just as her grandfather did every Christmas in Quisinsaya, Peru. His legacy of kindness shaped Nicole’s childhood and fuels our mission today. Karu Ayllu begins with joy, rooted in memory and community.
